SoftSwitch Telephone interface Box : With the following connections
2 x RJ11 connectors (Telephone line jack)
The one connection comes from your Telkom incoming line to the box. The other connection goes from the box to your telephone. (The 2 mtr telephone cable supplied). Once the connection is made, pick up the receiver, make sure that the LED on the side of the box is green when the receiver is picked up. If it is red then the two lines, inserted in the RJ11 jacks, should be swapped.
1 x 3.5 mm Audio jack
The audio jack is to be inserted into your soundcard microphone input jack, on the computer. Important: Please ensure that the sound card in your computer is functional and working properly.
USB jack
The USB jack is to be inserted into the computer USB port. This is used to activate the recording cycle when the receiver is Off Hook ( Picked up) and terminate the recording when the receiver is On hook (Conversation ends). The USB is activated by voltage sensed in the telephone line .
Load the VRS recording software and set it up based on your requirements. Please read the VRS Help file before proceeding, this has the explanations.
Installation
Remove the incoming cord from the telephone
Plug into box
Plug lead supplied into box and the other side into telephone.Same place you removed the cord from in the first place
Lift Handset. If the LED is green, connection OK. If LED is red swop the connections going into the interface box.
Load the Software
After installation it will look like this;
Select View and change to suit you requirements. It should end up like this;
Select settings and then settings again
Select Properties. On this tab enter 0 on the Auto-delete recordings from hard drive after (0-800 Days). Recording will never be deleted from hard drive. You have to do it manually.
Enter Name
Select the audio device. It should beyou default PC sound Card
Select Mono
Select Microphone
For the SP1 unit select Hardware Control.
Under the Settings/Recording Tab Check Delete any file shorter than and enter the time . We recommend min of 10 seconds.
